I Want Cheese and Trucks

One week ago, our son’s pediatrician told us he heard a murmur and wanted us to go see a peds cardio doctor.  He was pretty sure it was a benign functional murmur.  Because of my history with SVT, he wanted a confirmation.  Appointment was made.

So, my youngest and I loaded up at 7:30 am this morning off to see the cardio doc.  Let me tell you he was absolutely cracking me up the whole way there.  I hadn’t laughed that hard in a couple weeks and I really needed it.  Every time a truck drove by us, BIG trucks were his favorite, he would scream “truck” at the top of his lungs.  I am really glad he does not know the punch bug game.  I would probably be bruised and beat up, if he were to adapt it to trucks.

We get to the doctor’s office and before we get out of the truck he spies my camera in my bag.  “I want Cheese”.  He insisted on having his picture taken before we went inside.

Once we arrived inside the office, he was a champ.  He sat in his seat in the waiting room and read a magazine (upside down).

Doctor’s visit was very good and diagnosis couldn’t have been better.  I was told that he has a Still’s murmur and for me to completely forget about it.  That the murmur was a benign functional murmur.  Blessed!

Good start to the day and more TRUCKS all the way home.

  1. My Joshua, just recently 2, is really into trucks also. He believes everything bigger than our van is a bulldozer. He cries when we pass them on the road and don’t have time to stop and watch.

I am glad the murmur was okay. Those moments, those questions, are truly scary!

Our prayers are with you and keep up the good writings. Give the big guy a hug for me!
