Our New Year’s Eve was filled with coloring, Barbies, and loud fireworks. None of us made it to watch the ball drop. I tried, but ended up falling in and out of sleep around 11:30. The fireworks outside got louder and louder. I can tolerate them for a couple of hours, but when we start hitting 2 am and I want to sleep (and the kids to stay asleep) I get annoyed! We always have a couple of people outside with water hoses protecting their houses when fireworks are flying in the air (always gives me a chuckle). Hubby tells me that’s what we have homeowner’s insurance for.
I cleaned out T’s room a week ago. When I say cleaned out, I mean cleaned out. A whole truck bed full of stuff. Well, when clutter disappears, you can then actually see your toys! New Year’s Eve, T pulls out her BIG box of Barbie stuff and her and H played for a long time discovering forgotten treasures.
Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of New Year’s Day. I had big plans for the day which included cooking a traditional feast. I woke up sick, ugh, and was in bed (or couch) all day. Hubby was wonderful and did ALL the cooking. Slow roasted pulled pork, collard greens, black-eyed peas, and fat back. I don’t like fat back, but I ate 3 pieces this year – 2012 GOOD HEALTH!
Happy New Year everyone!
