This is the first time I have taken a picture of my incision and put it out there for all to see. Second surgery was October 12th 2011, so I am a little over 3 months out.

My scar is noticeable. It something I can’t cover up or hide and if you look at me you will see it.  The incision is starting to keloid and it looks very angry and red.  I know that it is going to get wider, higher, and even more noticeable, but that’s okay.

When I see other people’s scars now, I think of their strength and courage.  I see them as beautiful.

If you don’t like scars, turn head now.

“There is something beautiful about all scars of whatever nature. A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed and healed, done with.”
