Wow Has it Been a Month?

A lot has happened over the past month.  Where do I start?

We started 4th grade!

The first couple weeks started out rocky, but we made a change and she is so happy now.  We have been collecting insects for the past week (for a project), well hubby rather.  He brought home a HUGE hairy nasty disgusting spider Thursday and I had to politely tell him to get it out of the house.  6 legs = insect not 8!

T started gymnastics this year and is moving swiftly through her belts.  I have to say I am rather impressed.  She has no fear. Me on the other hand has to leave the building – I can’t watch without wanting to yell each time to be careful.  T is doing dance again this year.  She has been trying to teach H some of the moves.  It’s cute.  She has also started back with Church youth choir and is really excited about the program they will be putting on in the spring.

T and I have started running/walking on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays (when it isn’t raining).  More walking…my knees, I’m getting old.  We did our first 5k this past weekend and we made it to the finish line.  T loved it and wants to do lots more.  So, we will be doing more in the near future.  Please pray, I can keep up ha!

T also had walking pneumonia the past two weeks, so she was so excited to make it through to the finish line without coughing or needing an inhaler.  She is definitely on the mend.

This has been the month of potty training H.  He is 3, yes 3 and has refused to sit on the potty.  He knew what to do, just didn’t want to do it.  So, mama bribed him with skittles.  I think the first weekend we went through a whole bag and he was then over it.  I had to step up my game to $1.00 sticker and coloring sets from the Dollar Store.  He is making progress!

H also had two sinus infections this month.  He is keeping them and I really hope he grows out of this soon.  I hate him being on antibiotics all the time and I know he hates it too.

My next hurdle is getting him to sleep by himself.  Daddy is his bed buddy right now and has been for the past 3 months.  T went through this stage too and it lasted almost a year.  I think deep-down daddy likes snuggling with the kids, so I haven’t really pushed the issue.

We haven’t seen daddy in several months really.  He goes to work at 6:30 and doesn’t come home until 9ish.  He has been working weekends too.  They just finished harvesting the corn and about to start on cotton, peanuts, and soybeans.  The past few months I’ve seen hubby as he goes out the door in the morning and for a brief second when he pats me on the leg to make the switch laying down with H.   But, we did get to go on a dinner date last night!  2 whole hours – whoot!

Well, my ultrasound is coming up this month on the 28th and then I get to start LID again last week of October in preparation for my whole body scan November 16th.  Really excited though that I don’t have to come off meds.  I have two thyrogen shots with my name written all over them.  Yay!  The scan in November is a week-long process.  Shot Monday, shot Tuesday, blood-work Tuesday, RAI tracer Wednesday, more blood-work Thursday, and scan Friday.  It’s going to be a long week!

I kinda fell off the clean eating wagon for about 2 weeks.  I will not do that again.  All my horrible suppression symptoms got worse really quickly.  I guess it was a good test though, if you want to look at the positive side.  I have to eat the way I was to feel the best I can with my new normal.  So, I started back Tuesday of this week.  27lbs lost so far 23 more to go!  Hey, shouldn’t be too bad, if T has me doing tons of 5ks with her ha!

Well, that’s a short choppy summary of our past month.  I will try to be a better blogger, write more, and take pictures.  Just been so busy!  And speaking of busy, 4:30 in the morning will here be as soon as I close my eyes, so ya’ll have a great night!
